A little more about us...

Matt is a seasoned association executive with a decade of experience serving multiple trade associations and nonprofit foundations in the physician, commercial real estate, and business industries. Matt prides himself on encouraging association leaders to address the challenges of today by letting go of the ‘we've always done it this way’ mindset and instead embrace a 'we've never tried it this way' approach. 

By doing so, he’s helped organizations engage a new generation of members, streamline their operations, effectively advocate before policymakers and regulators, leverage technology to expand education across different platforms, and produce memorable event experiences, all while boosting their bottom line.

Prior to his experience in organizational leadership, Matt worked in the California State Legislature as a Legislative & Communications Consultant, advising state lawmakers on how to best amplify their message to reach the media, the public, and their constituents.

Matt was born and raised in Whittier, California and earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science at UC Santa Barbara. He lives in San José with his husband Will and Golden Retriever, Benji.

Outside of Forward, Matt enjoys spending time with his dog, traveling with his partner, photography, reading, eating Mexican food, frequenting local bars and restaurants, and re-watching Titanic.
